It’s goodbye to Carson Fletcher and hello to Gibbs and Dandy in Market Harborough. But don’t worry: Mr Carson and Mr Fletcher are still there to look after all your timber needs.

The story began in 2007 when Carson Fletcher Timber was acquired by Gibbs and Dandy. It kept trading under its original name, managed by the previous owners, but when Gibbs and Dandy added a branch in nearby Leicester it was decided that the Gibbs and Dandy name should also be used in Harborough.

The company’s warehouse in Albany Road now has Gibbs and Dandy’s distinctive blue and yellow signage but it may take a little longer for customers to get used to the new name.

Mark Carson has mixed feelings about the name change, which is natural after years of building up the business with fellow director Steve Fletcher. “It feels a bit like the end of an era, but being part of Gibbs and Dandy means we have the resources we need to take full advantage of the upturn when it comes” he said.
