Generous punters back local hospice
03.10.2007

A Gibbs and Dandy race night at Windsor Racecourse has raised £1,350 for a Thames Valley hospice. 120 customers, suppliers and staff got together for the Dandy Derby, an evening of video horse racing. Bets were placed with “Dandy Dollars” and successful punters won a variety of prizes, including a Sony laptop computer.
The event also featured a mini trade exhibition supported by Dulux, Marshalls, Stonemarket, Lafarge Plasterboard, Celcon, Birtley, Premdor, Wavin, Ariston, Ideal Standard, Pegler, Yorkshire, Quinn Radiators, Makita, Stanley and Carlisle.
Horses in the last race were auctioned off for charity, and customers showed enormous generosity by raising £1,350 for the local hospice, Thames Hospicecare (formerly Thames Valley Hospice and Paul Bevan Hospice).
